Lita Rossana Ford - also known as Lita Ford - is an American guitarist, vocalist and songwriter British descendance. In the late 1970s, she played the guitar player in the girls-only hard rock group The Runaways. The group did not make it in the United States, but gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford started a heavy metal solo career when the band broke up in 1979. Ford took vocal lessons before releasing her first solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford was absent from the scene for a few months after the albums failed to gain much popularity. The album she dominated, "Lita" which came out in 1988 was her return with a bang. It became a huge hit for both the song "Kiss Me Deadly," as well as the ballad 'Close My eyes forever. Her success was not long-lasting, as she disappeared for several years. She re-emerged after the release of her album "Black" in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland' almost fifteen years after. She released her latest album in the year 2016 titled 'Time-Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
