Stevie Wonder-3-819x1024Stevie Wonder quit MoTown in 1970 and made two albums on his own. Berry Gordy was stunned to discover this from Stevie Wonder. Berry Gordy accepted Stevie Wonder's request for greater independence, full creative control, and right to all his songs. Stevie Wonder signed a 13 million dollars MoTown Records contract in 1972. Stevie Wonder was entitled to more royalty as well as greater creative control and rights over his songs. This was an unusual opportunity for artists at the time. The contract allowed Wonder's songs to talk about controversial issues such as poverty,war,drugs as well as politics.Stevie is famous for his songs that are political, like You Haven't Done Nothing which took a political stab at Richard Nixon. His 1972 album, Music Of My Mind was the first to be released under the new MoTown deal. Talking Book was Stevie Wonder's album that was released in the late year of 1972. It's still a major piece of music. It included Superstition as the top track.
